Breast CancerI am a radiation oncologist specializing in the of treatment breast and gynecologic cancers, clinical research and clinical trials, clinical quality and safety programs, and education. I trained at the University of Pennsylvania, where I completed a basic science fellowship and then joined the faculty. I was the residency program director at the University of Pennsylvania and the Moffitt Cancer Center. In 2011, I completed a fellowship with the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program, a training program for women in leadership roles in academic health systems.
In 2022, I accepted the position of associate cancer center director and chief of radiation oncology at the St. Luke’s University Health Network. This role involves oversight of all quality, research and education programs, initiatives, strategic development, clinical operations and recruitment for the oncology service line.
I actively participate in national professional societies’ scientific, administrative, educational and quality programs. I chaired the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Emerging Technology Committee and worked on ASTRO Guidelines, Health Policy, Government Relations and Scientific Program Committees. I was also the chair of the American College of Radiology and American Radium Society Breast Cancer Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) panel and helped develop the current AUC guideline and scientific programs. I was an American Board of Radiology oral board examiner and written exam developer for over 15 years. I participate in continuing education programs for ASTRO and the School of Breast Oncology. I was awarded the ASTRO Fellowship designation in 2018, and for over 15 years have been named to “Top Doctors” listings. I am a national principal investigator (PI) for the NRG Breast Committee, and I work on research projects studying radio response assays in breast cancer and other innovations in clinical care. A radio response assay is a test used to measure the sensitivity of breast cancer cells to radiation therapy.
